Security Behavior Coach training is now available!

Great news! Our liaison partner Security Academy together with SECO Institute recently introduced two new training courses: Security Behavior Foundation & Coach. These training courses are tangible results of the Security Behavior Coach project of PCSI which we launched in 2020 with our core partners ABN AMRO, ING, Achmea, and TNO.

The Security Behavior Coach is a new role in the realm of cybersecurity. By addressing the interplay between people, processes, and technology, the Security Behavior Coach aims to reduce human risk and prevent cyber issues proactively. By discovering how and when humans 'touch' data throughout the working day, the coach can uncover the circumstances in which psychological-related system vulnerabilities may lead to security incidents.

According to PCSI project leader Rick van der Kleij, “integrating the Security Behavior Coach role into organizations brings numerous benefits. Firstly, it enables a proactive, more strategic approach to cybersecurity, by addressing the root causes of cyber risks. By focusing on human risk, organizations can reduce the likelihood of incidents, minimizing potential financial, reputational, and operational damages. Moreover, a people-oriented design in cybersecurity cultivates a sense of ownership and responsibility among employees. By involving individuals in the design of the cybersecurity system and providing them with the necessary knowledge and skills, organizations create a collaborative defence against cyber threats. This collective effort not only enhances the overall cybersecurity posture but also fosters a culture of vigilance and resilience.”

We are very excited that Security Academy is including these important courses in their program which will start on November 13th 2023. We hope that this new training will challenge you to play a part in this transition to a new holistic approach to cybersecurity.
